2024 Carlson Cares Scholarships: The Carlson Law Firm Announces Winners

KILLEEN, Texas — The Carlson Law Firm is proud to announce the recipients of the 2024 Carlson Cares Scholarship. This year, two outstanding students, Aalaynah Harris and Carson Woods, were selected among over 550 applicants to receive $2,500 scholarships for their academic achievements, community involvement and future aspirations. Six runners-up were selected to receive prizes for their talent, achievements, and dedication.

2024 Carlson Cares Scholarship Recipients

Aalaynah Harris, a 17-year-old from Killeen, has made significant contributions to her community. As a City of Killeen Youth Advisory Council Commissioner and a member of the National Technical Honor Society and Future Farmers of America, she has demonstrated exemplary leadership and civic duty. Harris has also volunteered over 280 hours with the City of Killeen Animal Services, earning her the prestigious Gold Status Presidential Volunteer Service Award. She will be attending St. Edward’s University to further her education and continue her path of community service and academic excellence.

Carson Woods, from Levelland, has been a dedicated advocate for agriculture from a young age. His involvement with 4-H and Future Farmers of America includes numerous volunteer roles, leadership positions, and participation in various contests. Woods’ passion for agriculture is matched by his commitment to education, having competed in poetry, prose, and accounting through The University Interscholastic League. He is also a State Ambassador for Keep Texas Beautiful. Woods will be continuing his education at Texas Tech, where he plans to further his contributions to the agricultural field.

2024 Carlson Cares Scholarship Runners-up

In addition to the main scholarship awards, six runners-up were selected to receive prizes and swag. These talented students are Azalia Tapia, Madison Frantzen, Brandie Phillips, Guadalupe Ventura, Katrin Chonkowsky, and Allee Hamilton. Their applications showcased remarkable talent and civic engagement, making the selection process highly competitive with over 500 submissions.
