[KILLEEN, Texas]—The Department of Veteran’s Affairs is joining The Carlson Law Firm to host a suicide prevention forum from 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. on Sep. 12 at the firm’s Killeen location, 100 E Central Texas EXPY, Killeen, TX 76541.
The Engage, Empower, and Encourage forum will feature two speakers who will discuss veterans’ mental health and the impact of social media on teenagers. Danielle Stevens-Roane from the Department of Veteran’s Affairs Suicide Prevention Program will elaborate on critical issues surrounding veterans’ mental health and the resources available to them.
“Mental health is a community responsibility that affects us all, especially our veterans who’ve made incredible sacrifices for our freedoms,” said Managing Partner Craig Carlson.“We owe it to our veterans to ensure they receive the care and support they deserve. Together, we can honor their service by fighting for their mental health.”
Carlson Law Firm Partner, Timothy Roehrs, is part of the national team litigating the Social Media Algorithm lawsuit. Roehrs will speak on the often overlooked impact social media can have on adolescent mental health and the implications for parents.
“Our teenagers are navigating a digital world filled with pressures that can deeply impact their mental health,” said Roehrs, Partner. “The evidence shows that social media companies have compromised the well-being of today’s teens. Our mission is to prevent companies from taking advantage of teens and to create a safe environment where teenagers and adolescents know they are prioritized.”
The event intends to provide insight into veterans’ mental health and the potential impact of social media on teenagers.
We encourage those interested in understanding and addressing these critical issues to attend. The Carlson Law Firm will provide dinner to registered attendees. Spaces are limited, and registration is required. Please email registration before Tuesday, September 10, 2024, to dmott@carlsonattorneys.com.
