14-Year Old Boy Dies After Being Struck By Trooper

A 14-year-old teen died Wednesday morning after being struck by a College Station Department of Public Safety Trooper patrol car.
Officials report that the boy, identified as Mark Harding Jr., was attempting to cross the road at the 4300 block of SH 6 West Feeder when he was hit by the southbound traveling trooper. He was walking with a friend at approximately 1 a.m. this morning, according to investigators. The Harding was an 8th grade student at College Station Middle School.
Harding was transported to College Station Medical Center with severe head injuries and was later pronounced dead.
Department of Public Safety representative, Tela Mange, said the trooper was on patrol at the time of the accident. Investigations are still taking place. The driver who hit Harding was identified as Trooper Justin Stohler.
