17-Month-Old Killed in San Antonio Military Medical Parking Lot

A speeding driver zoomed through the San Antonio Military Medical Center parking lot, Wednesday morning, killing a toddler pushed in a stroller.
The out-of-control vehicle slammed into the tot while speeding through the parking lot, witnesses said. The car then collided with another vehicle before crashing into a building outside. The driver of the vehicle is reported to be a 86-year-old Howard T. Cain, a retired Army Colonel, officials said.
Cain was taken to the emergency room with critical injuries, where he died later Wednesday evening authorities note. The toddler was also transported to the ER, where he was later pronounced dead. The toddler has not yet been identified.
The mother of the young boy is an enlisted soldier in the Army, officials said. She was uninjured in the pedestrian accident.
