Accidents involving big rigs can be horrific for the occupants in smaller passenger vehicles. The shear size difference can leave drivers and passengers at risk for serious, life-altering injuries and even death. Despite the risks involved in collisions between commercial vehicles and passengers cars, trucks and SUV’s, companies are not always careful to adhere to standards that could potentially protect surrounding vehicles and drivers. Time on the road, maintenance standards and regulations governing the training and truck driver safety can all be vital components that can prevent severe accidents and help keep truck drivers safe during long stretches of driving.
