An 18 wheeler truck accident in Grand Prairie, involving two different trucks left a Chevy Aveo completely smashed and sent three of the vehicle’s occupants to the hospital with resulting injuries.

The Texas 18 wheeler truck accident took place at approximately 6 a.m. on I-20 near the intersection of Highway 161, officials said.

The Chevy was, reportedly, occupied by an adult and two teenagers. All three people had to be cut from the vehicle as a result of the Texas 18 wheeler accident.

According to police, the driver of the Chevy struggled to stop in time, when a dump truck traveling ahead of them stopped abruptly. The impact of the collision sent the small sedan spinning through traffic, where another 18 wheeler truck smashed into the Chevy.

The adult and one teen were transported to the hospital via ground ambulance while the remaining teenage girl was flown to the hospital via helicopter.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims or those involved in the Texas 18 wheeler accident and officials are reconstructing the scene of the accident to understand the details surrounding the crash.
