An 18 Wheeler truck crashed into an Academy ISD bus carrying an unknown number of Little River Academy students early this morning between Temple and Little River. The Carlson Law Firm recently announced representation of multiple clients injured in the tragic accident.

Police identified the tractor trailer truck as a Lowe’s truck, which was traveling near the intersection of FM 93 and Old 95 at the time of the Academy ISD bus accident.

Many of the student passengers on the bus were transported to Scott & White Children’s hospital. All of the students were reportedly conscious following the 18 wheeler collision with the Academy ISD school bus, but the extent of their injuries is still unknown.

The driver of the school bus endured serious injuries and has been listed in critical condition, officials said. Emergency crew members said a 9-year-old boy was ejected from the bus as a result of the impact of the crash.

According to witnesses, the driver of the Lowe’s truck failed to stop at a stop sign, crashing into the school bus. The driver said foggy roadways prevented him from seeing the sign.

Authorities believe at least 38 students were passengers on the school bus. Most of those children experienced minor injuries. Of the 38 students on the bus, at least 30 of them were transported to the hospital with injuries.
