An 18 wheeler caused a 10 vehicle pileup on I-35 near Waco, Tuesday morning, when it stopped abruptly while pulling an oversized load.

Authorities believe the driver stopped when he realized he would not fit beneath the overpass ahead. Vehicles approaching the truck, rear ended it when it began backing up, causing oncoming traffic to pile up.

The Texas 18 wheeler accident occurred near the Forrest Drive Exit and sent two people to the hospital as a result. Although injuries did not seem serious, not updates on the conditions of those injured have been provided.

Investigators are looking into the big rig accident further to see if the tractor trailor violated any Texas laws.

The driver that caused the 18 wheeler accident in Waco is being investigated for numerous traffic violations, the Texas Department of Transportation said.
