A 19-year old girl was killed in a Texas rollover accident on Tuesday morning, when she pulled her vehicle off onto the shoulder of State Highway 31, near Tyler.
Chelsae Elaine Kirkland was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Texas Department of Public Safety officials, a 1996 Cadillac, smashed into Kirkland’s 2003 Ford Escape, when its driver swerved, losing control of the vehicle. Authorities believe the driver, identified as Richard Mosely, swerved onto the shoulder to avoid hitting the slowing car in front of him.
Kirkland’s Escape rolled upon impact. Police on the scene note that Mosely was not injured in the accident. Details revealing why Kirkland may have been pulled off on the shoulder have not yet been released.
