A New Braunfels accident involving a pickup truck and a motorized scooter claimed the life of a 7-year-old boy on Monday afternoon, officials disclosed.

The boy, who was identified as Annon Snider, 7, of New Braunfels, was riding his scooter in his neighborhood when he was struck by the pickup truck, police said.

The truck involved in the scooter accident was identified as a 2000 Ford F-250. Although the driver of the truck was not identified by police, officials said the 54-year-old remained at the scene of the New Braunfels accident.

Authorities said the fatal scooter accident in New Braunfels occurred on Stratford Grace.

Although police are still investigating the collision, they believe the driver of the truck may not have been able to see Snider until it was too late.
