Austin Motorcycle Accident Injures Travis County Sheriff’s Deputy

Posted By The Carlson Law Firm || 27-Nov-2012

A Sheriff’s deputy with Travis County was seriously injured while riding his motorcycle on duty, when he was struck by an SUV in an Austin motorcycle accident on Monday.

Authorities said the traffic accident occurred on Loop 360, near Waymaker Way that afternoon.

The deputy’s name has not yet been released.

Initially following the Austin auto accident involving the motorcycle, emergency officials on the scene believed the deputy had endured life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

The accident took place while the deputy was following another driver, who officials said was speeding. While pursuing that driver, a Range Rover SUV pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The driver of that SUV did not experience any injuries.

Loop 360 was closed for a few hours, authorities reported.

Our thoughts are with the Travis County deputy as he heals.
