Austin Truck Accident on 183 Sends Two to Hospital

Posted By The Carlson Law Firm || 30-Aug-2012

An 18 wheeler accident on Hwy 183 sent at least two people to the hospital on Thursday morning after the driver of the tractor trailer attempted to cross all lanes of traffic. As a result, the big rig jack knifed, rolling on its side.

Two people, who have not yet been identified, were transported to University of Medical Center Brackenridge, with injuries caused by the truck crash.

Fire crews were called to the scene of the Austin truck accident to clean spills emerging from the big rig. Officials were unsure what the truck was hauling and, therefore, quickly cleaned the region. No hazardous materials were suspected to have been leaked during the accident, police said.

Highway 183 and Texas 71 were cleared and reopened by early afternoon Thursday, authorities reported.

No update has been given regarding the current status of the victims of the East Austin truck crash.
