Belton Worker Severs Arm in Construction Injury Accident

A construction accident outside of Belton, Tuesday resulted in the severe injury of a 56-year-old worker when he slipped, severing his left arm on a drilling device, officials said.

The accident occurred at the intersection of FM 439 and Jamie Drive and the man was flown to Scott & White Hospital after his lower arm was torn off, below his elbow.

Although Bell County Fire and Rescue representatives located his arm and placed it on ice, his condition is unknown.

According to authorities, the man was putting in water lines in a 25-foot trench, where he slipped, causing serious injury.
