A Bexar County fire killed three people within a mobile home Sunday evening, though two people were able to escape the inferno, police said.
Residents of the mobile home, 51-year-old Donnie Payton and his wife, 46-year-old Rhonda Payton, were able to escape the home. The couple’s daughter said the couple had allowed other family members to stay with them, prior to the house fire in Bexar County.
One of the victims killed in the fire was identified as 56-year-old Clarence Payton. In addition, 28-yar-old Roger Richards, Donnie Payton’s nephew, and his 37-year-old girlfriend were also killed in the blaze. Rochard’s girlfriend was, reportedly, two months pregnant.
Police have not identified Richard’s girlfriend as family members are notified regarding the Texas house fire accident.
Investigations continue regarding the cause of the house fire.

Fires can be sparked for a variety of reasons. As winter temperatures cool our homes off, heaters, hot water heaters and other methods of heating our homes and keeping them comfortable can be a prime source of a fire. In addition, home fires can be caused by gas or electricity, stemming from cords or gas leaks.
Kitchen equipment, stoves and bad appliances can also often be sourced as the cause of a home fire in addition to poor maintenance completed on such kitchen devices.
Despite the care taken in a home to maintain a safe environment, bad equipment, negligent home repairs and defective goods can sometimes spark a dangerous blaze that destroys property and injures or kills loved ones.
