Bicycle Accident in San Antonio Claims Life of One on West Ave.

A bicycle accident in San Antonio claimed the life of a cyclist when he was struck by a 17-year-old driver while traveling on West Avenue on Wednesday afternoon, authorities reported.

The man who was killed in the San Antonio cycling accident was identified as 55-year-old Devan Coulter Smith, police revealed. The driver of the vehicle that struck the cyclist in San Antonio was not identified.

Witnesses on the scene of the auto collision with the bicycle said the driver of the vehicle involve was traveling at a high rate of speed. According to those witnesses, Smith was ejected from his bicycle as a result of the collision.

In addition, witnesses told police that the young driver was driving erratically prior to the bicycle accident.

Police said the young man may be charged with manslaughter but officials are still investigating the San Antonio accident.
