California Teen Killed in Midland, Texas Car Accident

A car accident in Midland, Texas claimed the life of a 17-year-old from California after a woman ran a stop sign and smashed into a Jeep driven by the man.

Police identified the young man as Fontana, California resident Nabeel Akhras. Akhras was pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident in Midland.

The young woman driving the Audi that struck the Jeep was identified as 19-year-old Karla Ruvalcaba. Police said Ruvalcaba was traveling on West County Road 60, when she ran a stop sign, failing to yield the right of way to Akhras, at the intersection at Highway 158.

Ruvalcaba was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital with injuries resulting from the Midland collision. She was recently listed in stable condition.
