Food Poisoning Lawyers in Texas

Although food poisoning may not seem serious, and may simply prompt uncomfort, other instances of food poisoning can be serious and may even result in the need for medical attention. As a result of necessary treatment for serious cases of food poisoning, some victims and their families experience major medical expenses from emergency room visits and even hospital stays. Despite the lack of seriousness some people associate with food poisoning, it sends more than 350,000 people to the hospital every single year, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

Salmonella, E. Coli and Listeria are just some of the most common types of food poisoning, which can be dangerous, especially for those with weaker immune systems, like elderly people, children, babies and pregnant women.

Causes of Food Poisoning

While some types of instances of food poisoning are linked to the food itself and the process of growth and manufacturing, other types of the illness are tracked to the preparation, food handling and sanitation of restaurants and manufacturing plants. Inadequate food storage, improper temperatures and other mishandling of foods can be linked to dangerous outbreaks of food borne illnesses.
