Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of those affected by this fatal crash.

Single vehicle accidents can be sparked for a variety of reasons. From tire blowouts to driver loss of control to debris in the road that may trip a vehicle up, SUV’s and pickup trucks in particular can have specific risks of rolling over because of the higher center of gravity.

Vehicles are designed to be able to withstand and protect occupants from serious injuries, making the crashworthiness of vehicles an important consideration. The roof of a vehicle, the seatbelts and airbags are vital pieces of equipment designed to protect drivers and passengers from the serious effects of a crash. In some situations, the failure of auto equipment can result in serious injuries caused by ejection from the vehicle when a seatbelt fails or injuries caused by airbag failure. In addition, a defective vehicle roof can fail causing serious head and neck injuries to occupants.
