A motorcycle crash in Lorena sparked a five-vehicle car accident on I-35 Wednesday after, officials reported.

According to police, the motorcycle initially crashes, sending it the rider to the hospital for the treatment of minor injuries he endured in the I-35 wreck.

As a result of the initial motorcycle crash, traffic backed up and I-35 became increasingly congested, causing a subsequent auto accident on the interstate. As many as five cars were involved in the second motor vehicle accident. Two people involved experienced injuries caused by the car wreck.

On lookers and “rubber neckers” are often tied to subsequent accidents that occur after an initial car wreck has taken place on a highway or interstate. People who are curious about who is involved and what has happened can cause inattention to the traffic surrounding and vehicles ahead as well as constant stopping and starting on the roadways and officials attempt to clean up debris and remove hazards and injured parties.
