An accident involving a passenger vehicle and four, 18 wheeler trucks left one man in critical condition Monday afternoon in Corrigan, police said.

According to reports, the unidentified Livingston man was transported to the hospital in Tyler with critical injuries after one of the 18 wheeler trucks collided with another, sparking a small pileup accident.

In addition to injuring the driver of the passenger car, the semi-truck accident also caused minor damage to a nearby house, though no occupants of the home were injured.

One of the drivers of the tractor-trailer trucks, identified as 26-year-old Ruben Garcia, of El Paso, was also transported to the hospital with injuries resulting from the big rig crash. No one else was injured in the Texas truck collision.

18 wheeler truck driver, 31-year-old, Miseal Garcia Jr., was cited for failing to control his speed. Police believe he may have caused the accident. The posted speed is listed at 35-40 mph, authorities said.

As a result of the collision, traffic on Highway 59 was backed up while HAZMAT responded and clean-up crews cleared the scene of spilled diesel.
