Collision kills 1 man in Georgetown
A 42-year-old man was killed yesterday in Georgetown following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Williams Drive and the east I-35 Frontage Road.
According to investigators, a 2010 Nissan Cube was travelling east on Williams Drive through the intersection when it was struck in the passenger side by a 2007 Chevy Tahoe Z71, which was traveling north on the frontage road. The impact caused the Cube to roll and come to a rest on its roof, just north of the intersection, reports state.
The driver of the Cube, who has since been identified as John David Martin, of Georgetown, died from the injuries he sustained in the crash, police say.
The Tahoe driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
According to police, there are no criminal charges against the drive of the Tahoe at this time.
