Collision Sparked By High Speeds Leaves One Dead in Mercedes, Texas

A woman, waiting at a bus stop was killed by an out-of-control driver, who ran a nearby red light, in San Antonio on the West Side.
Police later identified the woman as 34-year-old Toni Frisina.
Police said a beige pickup truck traveling on Wilson Boulevard coasted through the red light before smashing into a white car in the opposite lane of traffic. The truck then ran up onto a curb near the bus stop, hitting Frisina and dragging her as far as 10 feet, according to authorities.
The passenger in the pickup was transported to the hospital with unidentified injuries. The driver of the white vehicle, a 31-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.
According to officials, the man operating the pickup truck that struck Frisina was arrested for driving without a license. The man may also face charges including running the red light.
