Copperas Cove Man Killed in Hwy 190 Motorcycle Accident

A motorcycle accident in Copperas Cove on Hwy 190 left the rider dead on Friday even when the driver of a passenger vehicle failed to yield the right of way while attempting a left turn on Laura Street, police revealed on Tuesday.
The man was identified as 45-year-old Matthew Leyfett Walker, a resident of Copperas Cove. Police said Walker was transported to Scott & White Hospital in Temple, where he was later pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the Hwy 190 motorcycle crash.
The other vehicle involved was identified by authorities as a 2003 Mercury Sable. As a result of the driver’s failure to yield, Walker and his motorcycle smashed into the side of the sedan. The driver of the Mercury was not identified.
