Crash on I-35 in San Marcos kills 1
A man is dead following a crash on I-35 in San Marcos early Wednesday morning.
The San Marcos Police say the crash happened at about 2:00 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate near McCarty bridge.
According to the authorities, a tractor trailer carrying bottled water had a mechanical issue and stopped suddenly in the right lane of traffic.
A black Lexus then collided with the back of the trailer and sent debris into other lanes. The highway had to be shut down.
Donald Eugene Wilson, 45, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident. He was a front-seat passenger in the sedan, police say.
The driver was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.
