Deadly wreck near Madisonville kills Buffalo man
One man is dead following an accident that occurred early Friday morning on Interstate 45, 10 miles north of Madisonville.
According to Department of Public Safety officials, Marcus Harrison, 58, was travelling south on the highway when his vehicle struck a large piece of equipment that had fallen off a trailer and was lying in the roadway.
The driver of an 18-wheeler that was carrying the equipment had left the road and hit a cable barrier in the median. As the driver attempted to steer back into the roadway, the large item fell off of his trailer, and into lanes of traffic, reported a DPS Trooper.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was not hurt.
According to officials, Harrison is from nearby Buffalo.
