A Denton, Texas man was killed Saturday night after the rider lost control of his motorcycle on northbound Interstate 35 East, police said.
David Delano, 49, was thrown from his motorcycle, causing blunt force drama to his chest, authorities believe. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the Texas motorcycle accident.
Although investigations are still revealing why the he lost control of the motorcycle in the first place, officials said Denton was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration reports that motorcycle accidents are four times more likely to result in death than a passenger car accident, making motorcycle safety equipment and care when sharing the road with motorcycles a vital aspect of keeping roads safe.
