A train accident in the Texas panhandle, involving as many as three freight trains left four workers injured on Wednesday when more than 30 cars derailed, police reported.

Although police have not yet released the names of workers who were injured in the train derailment, two of those workers were listed in critical condition, according to hospital officials.

According to officials, the train accident occurred near U.S. Hwy 60, East of Amarillo and involved a Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway train. The train crash may have been sparked by a collision between two trains, one of which may have rear-ended the other, provoking the derailment. Some of the derailed cars sparked a second accident involving another train, police said.
