A Houston hit-and-run that knocked a mother and her child to the ground earlier this week has resulted in charges against the driver that hit them, officials said.

According to reports, the woman was near Sorth Sam Houston Parkway with a broken down vehicle, when she was struck by the Camaro after getting her daughter out of the car.

The driver of the Camaro, Ricardo Daniel Cruz, 29, is being charged with failure to stop and render aid, after leaving the scene of the Texas hit-and-run accident.

As a result of the hit-and-run, the woman suffered a broken leg. Although she was holding her daughter when the crash occurred, the child was not injured.
