A head-on collision that killed a vehicle’s passenger has provoked intoxicated manslaughter charges against the driver of the car, police said.
The drunk driving accident occurred near Belleau Drive in Humble, Texas a little after 8 p.m., according to officials.
A Honda Civic, driven by the person being charged, skimmed the back of an Infiniti that was stopped for a slight accident ahead, when it swerved into oncoming traffic, colliding into another Honda.
The driver being charged was injured in the collision and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital. His passenger was killed. The driver of the other Honda was transported to Kingwood Medical Center for injuries resulting from the wreck.
The driver of the Infiniti was not injured in the accident.
Officials are awaiting blood test results to see if the driver of the first Honda will be charged with intoxicated manslaughter. He is currently listed in serious condition.
The names of the fatality and those injured in the crash have not yet been released, authorities noted.
