A Cleveland, Texas man was killed in a Pennsylvania pedestrian accident last week, State police said.
While the body of 40-year-old Kelly D. Nickerson was found by passersby on Sept. 29h, the driver of the vehicle that struck his is still unknown, according to officials.
Nickerson was taken to Memorial Hospital and later transported to the Trauma Unit at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where he was later pronounced dead, hospital authorities said.
Police believe that dark clothing donned by Nickerson and rainy road conditions may have contributed to the pedestrian accident. Additionally, the driver of the vehicle that hit the victim may not have even been aware that they hit Nickerson.
A pending autopsy may reveal more about what occurred early that morning.
