When a pedestrian is struck by a tractor trailer truck, there may be several parties liable for injuries incurred or wrongful death resulting. In situations where the pedestrian is killed as a result of injuries caused by an 18 wheeler accident, family members can sometimes make claims of wrongful death against the driver and even the company that owns the truck or employees the driver.

Because of the dangers associated with driving a commercial truck, the company that employs drivers must take careful consideration regarding the qualifications of those they hire, offering adequate training and completing proper background checks and drug testing.
