High voltage electricity surrounds many of us, often, whether we are aware of it or not. While the existence of powerful electricity is an obvious danger, electricians, construction workers and other employees work closely with it ever day, making proper training and protective equipment a vital part of their jobs.

Between 2003 and 2007, 28,401 workers were killed in workplace injuries, highlighting the dangers associated with some types of employment and the training and protection necessary to operate safely, despite risks associated with construction and electric-related jobs. In addition to posing risks of death, electrocution is also responsible for countless injuries every year. Injuries and fatalities associated with overhead electric lines are some of the most common type related to electrocution, making proper training regarding power line locations and safety imperative to safeguarding employees.
