Fatal Car Accident in Austin Kills One, Injures One

A motor vehicle accident involving a dump truck and one passenger vehicles left one man dead on Tuesday afternoon on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, police report.

Although the fatal car accident in Austin is still undergoing investigations by authorities, police reported that a woman was injured in the crash.

According to reports, the passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on E.M. Franklin Avenue when it collided with the dump truck, which was traveling westbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Neither the woman who was injured nor the man who was killed have been identified, pending notification of kin.

The passenger vehicle was identified as a white sedan and police reported that the driver of the dump truck remained at the scene of the Austin traffic accident. Reports have not yet revealed who may have been at fault or what may have sparked the fatal car accident in Travis County.

The woman was transported to University Medical Center, Brackenridge, for the treatment of injuries sustained in the auto accident. Her injuries were not reported to be life-threatening and she is expected to recover, emergency officials noted.
