Fiery Truck Crash on I-35 in Sparks Call For Justice of the Peace

A fiery 18 wheeler truck accident involving as many as three vehicles occurred on southbound Interstate 35, Thursday morning, officials said.

Although no details have been released regarding people injured or fatalities tied to the 18 wheeler accident, reports note that officers on the scene requested the presence of a justice of the peace as well as a crime scene unit.

The truck has only been identified by labels on its side associating the big rig with SAIA.

One of the cars involved in the accident was destroyed as well as a truck trailer. The driver of the first vehicle, Robert Sanchez Luna, 59, of Waco was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Forensic testing was required to identify Luna, said officials.

The accident, reportedly, took place when the driver of the 18 wheeler truck smashed into the back of a smaller, passenger vehicle. The semi-truck was struck by a vehicle traveling behind it. Both of the passenger vehicles hit the guardrail and flipped over it. The tractor-trailer rolled over, sending its contents across the interstate.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, friends, and victims tied to this tragedy.
