A wrong-way accident in Forth Worth claimed the lives of two men and injured a third when a Cadillac traveling in the opposite lane of traffic smashed into a tow truck on Highway 287, police said.
Police identified the driver of the Cadillac as Christopher Brookins. His passenger, 25, year-old Eric Jordan was celebrating his birthday that night, officials said. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene of the Texas car accident.
The driver of the tow truck that was struck by the wrong-way vehicle, at around 2 a.m., was transported to the hospital with a broken leg caused by the Fort Worth car accident. The driver of the wrecking company truck has not yet been identified by police.
The impact of the accident caused the Cadillac to become tripped up on the center rail of the highway before the vehicle overturned and slid to a stop.
Police are investigating whether alcohol may have played a role in the Texas wrong-way collision.
