Stringent Requirements and Hiring Practices
Trucking companies and employers have a responsibility to hire safe, drug-free drivers and employees with good driver records highlighting a driving history of safety. In some situations where trucking companies struggle to find good employees, they may cut corners and hire employees and drivers who do not meet those standards, therefore posing a serious threat to the occupants of passenger vehicles sharing the highways and interstates. Drug abuse, alcohol use, drowsy driving tied to poor rest policies or failure to adhere to establish resting standards as well as histories of reckless driving or behavior can all indicate potential problems.
