Graco Recalls Millions of Car Seats for Defective Latch

A Graco car seat recall that marks one of the largest, like, child and baby product recalls has resulted in more than 11 types of Graco carseats to be pulled from shelves and notifications sent to consumers.

According National Highway Traffic Administration (NHTSA), the baby product recall was ignited by a request by the government agency but voluntary by the company. Seven additional seats in question were not recalled by Graco.

The problem with the defective car seats was linked to the harnesses, which can become easily stuck as time progresses and may even make it hard to get a child out of the seat in an emergency situation. The actual performance of the harness of the car seat as a whole were not in question and are expected to perform during a crash situation, as intended. CNN listed the recalled car seats as follows:

  • Cozy Cline
  • Comfort Sport
  • Classic Ride 50
  • My Ride 65
  • My Ride 65 with Safety Surround
  • My Ride 70
  • Size4Me 70
  • My Size 70
  • Head Wise 70
  • Smart Seat
