Head-on Collision on Old Lorena Road Kills Two

A head-on collision on Old Lorena Road claimed the life of two men on January 30th, when the driver of a minivan crossed the median of traffic, colliding with a vehicle traveling in the opposite lane, officials reported.

Authorities identified the driver of the minivan as 68-year-old Jim Gray, a pastor at First Baptist Church of Woodway. He was en route to the church at the time of the collision, police reported.

The driver of the pickup truck that Gray collided with was identified as 89-year-old Hewitt resident, Elmer Franks. A report published by KWTX News revealed that Franks was first transported to Hillcrest Medical Center for the treatment of injuries he endured. He later passed away as a result of those injuries, KWTX reported.

The impact of the head-on collision caused both the minivan and the pickup truck to spin.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of both men killed in this tragic accident.
