Hemphill Woman Killed in Texas Rollover Accident

A rollover accident on Texas 96, near Brookeland, Texas claimed the life of a Hemphill resident Sunday morning.
Nineteen-year-old Jordan Levie Stallard was pronounced dead after being transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, hospital representatives said.
According to officials, driver, Drew Ellen Woods, 19, lost control of the 1994 Mercury Marquis she was driving, rolling the vehicle and ejecting Stallard from her passenger seat. Department of Public Safety officials said Stallard was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Woods, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital and has been listed in stable condition. She was wearing a seatbelt, authorities said. A recent status of her injuries is unknown and the accident remains under investigation.
