IKEA Recall: Stop using these safety gates immediately

Ikea is recalling a number of their safety gates after receiving reports of several injuries.

The voluntary recall is for some 80,000 Patrull, Patrull Fast and Patrull Klamma safety gates and extensions. According to Ikea, the locking mechanism can open suddenly, which poses a fall hazard to both children and adults.

So far the company has received 55 incident reports of concussions, cuts and bruising, among other complaints. Four of the incidents were reported in the U.S.

Consumers are warned to stop using the gate immediately, and to return the product to any Ikea store for a full refund.

The items were sold at IKEA stores nationwide and online from August 1995 through June 2016 for between $10 and $60.

This recall comes only weeks after the store recalled 29 million dressers that killed three children.
