Man Injured in Single Vehicle Accident in Amarillo

One man was transported to the hospital with serious injuries after enduring a single-vehicle accident in Amarilloon Sunday afternoon.
The driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt, identified at Alejandro Mayfield, lost control of the vehicle while traveling on westbound I-40. The Chevy smashed into a light pole. Mayfield was transported to the hospital with injuries resulting from the Amarillo car accident; although police said they were not life-threatening.
The passenger in the Chevy, identified by police as 18-year-old Joshua Needham, experienced more serious injuries as a result of the Texas car accident.
Police believe speed may have contributed to the car accident.
