Man Killed in Meridian Car Accident, Four Injured
A car collision between a car and a pickup truck killed one man and injured four other people involved in the auto accident in Meridian on Friday night, police reported.
Officials identified the man that was killed in the car accident as 20-year-old Brandon Anderson. Anderson was transported to Harris Methodist Hospital via helicopter. He was later pronounced dead as a result of the injuries he endured in the car accident on Highway 22.
The driver of the Pontiac car that Anderson was riding in was identified as 20-year-old Hope Edwardson. Police said Edwardson was traveling westbound on Highway 22 when she failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming Dodge pickup. That pickup was driven by Trey Williams, who, police said, was not injured in the collision.
Two infants were also injured in the accident. Officials said one of the infants, Edwardson’s child, was trapped in the car and had to be freed by emergency personnel using the jaws-of-life before being transported to Cook’s Children Hospital. The other infant was transported to Hillcrest Baptist Medical.
