Church Admits Sexual Assault Allegations Against Former Employees

A megachurch in Oklahoma has been rocked by allegations that Victoria Christian Center employees moved extremely slow when dealing with the sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl that occurred, allegedly, at the hands of another church worker, officials reported.

According to police in Tulsa, at least three other victims have allegedly stepped forward, claiming similar crimes against them by church employees. Authorities expect more victims could possible come forward with similar allegations.

As a result of the Oklahoma megachurch rape allegations, 20-year-old Chris Denman, a former employee of Victoria Christian Center, was arrested for the rape of the 13-year-old. Officials said the alleged rape occurred on a stairwell prior to the beginning of a church service. In addition, Denman has also been charged with molesting a 15-year-old.

Israel Shalom Castillo, 23, another former employee of the church was also arrested and charged with using a computer to commit a sex crime and making a lewd proposal to a child.

Five additional employees with Victoria Christian Center employees were charged with failing to report the alleged assaults. The employees charged were named as John Daugherty, Charica Daugherty, Anna George, Harold Sullivan and Paul Willemstein. All five were charged with failing to report child abuse.
