Mother and Daughter Killed in Drunk Driving Accident in San Antonio

A woman and her young daughter were killed in adrunk driving accident in San Antonio early Thursday, when they were struck by the driver of another vehicle while they were pulled to the side of the road with a flat tire, police said.

The woman, identified by police as 28-year-old Jessica Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragicSan Antonio drunk driving accident. Her daughter, 10-year-old Kaylee Flores was sitting in the back seat at the time of the crash. She was transported to University Hospital via AirLife and was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Police said the two were waiting in the vehicle, which was pulled to the side of the road, while Rodriguez’s fiancé was changing a tire on the car. Officials said he managed to move out of the way in time. The 2005 Jeep Cherokee smashed into the vehicle, smashing the entire rear of the car.

The driver of the vehicle that killed the pair was identified as 25-year-old Christopher Lamar. He was not injured in the drunk driving accident. But Lamar is being charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter.

Authorities said the family was out celebrating Rodriguez’s 28th birthday before the drunk driving accident in San Antonio occurred.
