Mother Critically Injured in San Antonio Pedestrian Accident on Culebra

A San Antonio pedestrian accident on Culebra sent one woman and her children to the hospital with injuries after they were struck while walking to school, police said.
According to a report published by KSAT News, the mother was seriously injured and the children endured non-life threatening injuries. The mother pushed her children out of the way of the oncoming vehicle, enduring most of the impact herself. She was recently listed in critical condition, authorities noted.
Although the names of the San Antonio accident victims were not released, police identified the children as ages 8 and 11 years-old. The mother was identified as a 28-year-old woman.
The mother was transported to University Hospital via ground ambulance, officials reported.
The vehicle that struck the trio was identified as a Mazda sedan.
