Mother killed in rollover on I-35 in Hillsboro
1 woman is dead after a single-vehicle rollover on I-35, just north of Hillsboro, police say.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a family of four from Monterrey, Mexico, was travelling north in a four-door Dodge pickup truck when a tire blowout near mile marker 373 caused the vehicle to roll. The son and wife were ejected, police say.
The husband, who was reported to be driving at the time of the wreck, and the teenage daughter were both flown to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries and released.
The son was airlifted to the same hospital where he remains in critical condition.
The mother was pronounced dead at Hillsboro Regional Hospital.
An investigation into the crash is on-going. The names of the 4 victims have not yet been relased.
