Motorcycle accidents in Bexar County seemingly continue to climb according to TXDOT statistics, highlighting the need for attentive driving by operators of passenger vehicles as well as motorcyclists. In many situations where a motorcycle crash has occurred, the drivers of passenger vehicles may not have seen the rider, causing them to fail to yield the right of way or strike a motorcyclist. But despite the smaller size of motorcycles in contrast with even small passenger cars, drivers have a responsibility to look out for pedestrians, cyclists and motorcycle riders just as they would other vehicles sharing the roadways.
