A hit and run accident occurs when those involved in a collision leave the scene of an accident and fail to wait for law enforcement and emergency professionals. In some situations, the driver of a vehicle may leave the scene of an accident if they don’t have auto insurance or a valid driver’s license. In addition, they may be under the influence of drugs or alcohol or they may be in possession of an illegal firearm, making them nervous about getting caught.

No matter the reason, hit and run accidents can leave victims involved confused and overwhelmed. Despite the apparent hopelessness associated, there is often still help for the victims of hit and run accidents in Texas.
