A hit and run motorcycle accident in San Antonio left one man dead on Thursday when the rider was struck by an alleged drunk driver, officials reported.

The motorcyclist who was killed was identified as 50-year-old Guadalupe Biaz.

According to police, a woman driving a Nissan Xterra SUV pulled out onto Nacogdoches Road, in front of the bike, causing the motorcycle to smash into the SUV. The driver of the SUV was identified as 29-year-old Charlotte Herrera.

A witness told police they attempted to help the motorcyclist, while watching the driver of the SUV leave the scene of the drunk driving accident, return and then leave again, almost hitting the victim a second time. The drunk driving accident may have caused the driver of the SUV to experience a tire blowout, which helped officials track down the driver.

Authorities believe Herrera had been celebrating her birthday the evening before the motorcycle accident in San Antonio.

Police believe the woman will most likely be charged with intoxication manslaughter as a result of the motorcycle accident.
