Obstructed Sign May Have Caused San Antonio Bus Accident That Killed Couple
A San Antonio bus stop accident on the Northeast side claimed the lives of a couple, when a Buick Enclave smashed into a pickup, which was pushed into the nearby bus stop where the couple waited on Jung Road, police said.
The couple was identified by police as 81-year-old Eugene Ferguson and 65-year-old Lee Ann Ferguson. Mr. Ferguson was pronounced dead at the scene of the San Antonio bus stop accident. His wife was transported to University Hospital, where she died from her injuries.
The bus stop accident in Northeast San Antonio have sparked criticism among neighbors and people familiar with the area, who say there should be better signals and signs in place to protect pedestrians in the region.
Additionally, the stop sign near the scene of the bus stopped accident was covered by a tree that had become over grown, blocking drivers from adequately seeing it, neighbors said.
